The earth will lose 1.79 million square kilometers of land mass by the end of this century, displacing a minimum of 200 million people if the predictions of scientists are correct. Locations most likely to feel the full brunt of this up and coming catastrophe are said to be London, New York and Shanghai. Furthermore, inhabitants living in major agricultural areas, including the Nile Delta and Bangladesh will find it hard to exist.
This new advisory comes after researchers realized that if emissions continue on their current trend, the earth’s temperature will rise by 5C by the end of the century, more than predicted at the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change back in 2013.
